About 90% of the information needed for driving is received visually by the driver. Only a little information is received with hearing (horns and shock markers) and a sense of touch (tactile markers and rough roads). Most of the information they get is visual. The two most common equipment used by technicians to give information is signs and markers consisting of signs, colors, and words. Traffic signs are elements defined as a special set of code labels intended for traffic users, which are in a vertical field for traffic areas. It is a basic means of communication between authorities and road users. Standards and guidelines suggest the use of words and color codes that are appropriate for conveying the different intensity of hazards. Red, yellow, and blue indicates a decrease in the intensity of the danger. Likewise, danger, warning, and attention show the danger in decreasing intensity even though some studies find no significant differences in the hazard assessment of warning and attention words. Signs and color codes used in our study are capable of giving meaningful meaning, warning, attention, thinking, and notification. For colors, it will be red, yellow, green, white, blue, green, and orange. We will evaluate perceptions of implied danger and language effects.
During this pandemic period, the obstacles faced by MSMEs (Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises) had a brutal impact on SME industries. In the interior, furniture and interior accessories are facilities that can be used together as an Information Centre, promotion and marketing that is effective, flexible, and multifunctional support business in the future. Naturally, business income has significantly decreased. Hence A strategic step and breakthrough are needed so that MSMEs can also take advantage of the market potential in the industrial era 4.0. This research aims to design the BEELIC website as a flexible tool that MSMEs can share in obtaining education, developing design knowledge, and promoting and marketing products. This research continues an Interior Research on recycling container waste with a Biophilic Design approach named BEELIC. The application of the biophilic element also makes SME products with added value. It has advantages that can meet market needs and become alternative solutions to the community's needs during the pandemic. Continuing the spirit of sustainability, people can discover the products of these MSMEs and various information BEELIC design solutions through the BEELIC website. Hence this website needs to be designed to meet these needs. From User Interface to user experience the methodology used is a literature review, online survey, case study, analyzing data, developing designs, making prototypes, evaluating, and producing the final site design. The case study in this research is a website design where the design and technology can fulfil the needs for information and solutions the MSMEs and people need.
The purpose of this research study is to get data of user experience towards mobile game design and the transformation of its interface due to translated language. Most of popular mobile games came from China with their local language and writing system. Chinese alphabetic is appropriate for vertical or horizontal orientation, but English and Indonesian alphabetic are not appropriate with vertical orientation. Ragnarok M: Eternal Love with MMORPG’s genre is the game sample model, originally from China server and now this game is translated into several languages such as English and Bahasa Indonesia. Ragnarok M: Eternal Love’s game developer used a unique method with combined icon and text in order to solve layout’s problem that they encounter when converted in to several languages. We conduct the experiment within 2 period of time, based on 25 participants (gamer), all participants tried user interface from a game model sample. The result confirmed that the display of the UI (user interface) used by the developer team of Ragnarok M: Eternal Love, had demonstrated a good solution in developing a user interface for mobile game, when confronted by fixed layout and forced to adapt to various different language, but it still need some adjustment time to fully understand the function of every button.
Health campaigns especially regarding the COVID-19 epidemic need to be highlighted as dangerous viruses that cause fever, coughing, shortness of breath, chest pain and death. The health ministry wants the government to move public awareness in this direction. The research aims to examine the visual communication of a poster design to encourage social distancing due to the pandemic of COVID-19. This study has analyzed the key elements of health campaign posters in Jakarta. The poster remains becoming an active platform to inform display information, data, schedules or offers and to persuade people, causes, places, events, products, companies, services, groups or organizations in Jakarta. Previously the health poster campaign was not enough to attract parents’ attention to educate their children about having a healthy lifestyle. This study uses a qualitative approach to collect all the data needed. This includes case studies through visual analysis of local content and national poster design from a health campaign from the Jakarta health ministry. The results show that local and national poster designs have different elements of the design results that affect different posters. This result can be set as a guideline for the government in Jakarta to design a poster with good design aesthetic elements. It will also guide future graphic designers to improve the ability of their poster campaign.
This study aimed to describe visual communication in the painting of Nypa fruticans, titled ‘Boboro’. The image was a form of a visual language that contained visual structures, such as lines, colors, and composition. Its existence was grouped in the category of non-verbal communication language that distinguished from the verbal language in the form of written or spoken form. As a language, visual communication design was an expression of ideas and messages from the designer to the intended public through tangible symbols of images, colors, writing, and others. The data were analyzed by using descriptive qualitative method. Regarding qualitative descriptive formats, it could also be called quasi-qualitative, and its nature was not overemphasizing meaning. The result of this study are methods of observing and identification of an object. In this case, it is a botanical painting.
