By coordinating their activities, companies aim to provide available products for their clients in the right place and time. Logistics activities have always been essential for companies, and therefore the logistics of the business and the management of the supply chain is a synthesis of many concepts, principles and methods from some of the most traditional fields of marketing, manufacture, accountability and transport, and also of the disciplines of mathematics and economy. This paper deals with the main aspects of logistics, business and management of the supply chain, and with the main aspects of the strategies and competitive incomes of the company. These aspects include transportation, inventory, processing, purchase, storage, treatment, packing, the standards of customer service and production. We have also described the role of the marketing of logistics as a system of planning which guarantees that the order will be executed in time, in the fastest way possible and with a low cost. The effective management of distribution channels affects the firms to realize an efficient process of distribution, in distributing the final products from the producer to the last consumer and in this way it helps these firms to grow their market and sales, and built strong relations with their clients. Performance evaluation functions as an important tool in adjusting performance potential by removing intermediate barriers and motivating human resources. Each business objectives relate to performance motivation, helping individuals to improve their skills, creating a performance culture, determining which should be promoted, and eliminating employees who have low performance. The paper deals with the moderating role of performance evaluation in motivating managers in Kosovo businesses. This paper consists of the use of a methodology that incorporates a combination of primary and secondary data. The majority of secondary data includes research relevant literature from different libraries, the latest scientific research. Primary data constitute field findings from businesses interviewed in Kosovo. In this study, quantitative approach was used. This approach consists of data collection and analysis in various forms. In order to determine the impact of performance evaluation on motivation of managerial staff, a questionnaire was drafted. This questionnaire was addressed to owners/co-owners, directors, general directors, and all managers in Kosovo's businesses. The last part of this paper is related to discussion of results, conclusions, and recommendations.
Performance measurement is a constant challenge to economic sciences in general, and this study is a response to an increased need for performance measurements to ensure maximum efficiency on the use of human resources. The main goal of this study is to evaluate employee performance as a key component of employee performance management. This paper aims at determining the current development level of new performance measurement techniques experienced by the businesses in Kosovo. In this study, linear regression, Pearson’s Chi-Squared test, and case study methods were used. The total number of case studies comprised 391, out of which 27 study cases were excluded because they did not apply any method of assessing the performance of the penitentiary. The results of the study have shown that businesses in Kosovo applying new evaluation methods of the performance of management staff ensure higher organisational performance. This study brings an added value to the field of application of performance measurement methods, exercising control and motivation of employees and contributing to the encouragement of businesses in Kosovo to apply new performance evaluation methods.
