This paper describes GRASS, an object-oriented framework for SCADA(Supervisory Control And Data Ac quisition) systems. The proposed framework consists of class libraries and tools, that support development of SCADA system software. The basic functional requirements of SCADA systems are similar, regardless of the particular application field,so substantial software sharing is possible. Nevertheless, productivity of SCADA software is impeded by dependence on details of the target system. The task of configuring the SCADA software for each target system is complex, typically involving manual input of a lot of system description data. GRASS simplifies this task by automatically generating system description data and providing editing tools for subsequent customization.
SUMMARYRecently, high-quality 3D graphics have become available at low cost. A number of attempts have been made to visualize information in a very large system by using 3D graphics. However, the development of a 3D graphical user interface system requires greater cost than that of a 2D graphical user interface system. To solve this problem, we propose an effective method to easily construct a 3D graphical user interface for SCADA. Then we demonstrate the advantages of the 3D graphical user interfaces constructed by our method through user experiments.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
