RESUMOO seguinte trabalho tem o objetivo estudar os livros digitais e seu processo de consolidação no mercado, no contexto da Era da Informação, e investigar a validade dos novos hábitos de leitura que vem se destacando no mercado editorial, que cada vez mais apresenta alternativas mais específicas de formatos para o seu produto: o livro. Além da revisão bibliográfica, foi realizada uma pesquisa de campo com doze editoras de todo o território nacional, no período de julho a setembro de 2017. Um questionário foi elaborado para constituir a pesquisa que se caracteriza do tipo qualitativa com uso de dados quantitativos. Os dados coletados foram analisados de forma a relacionar o contexto da Era da Informação com os livros digitais. A partir da análise, constatou--se que, apesar das dificuldades, a maior parte das editoras esforça--se para aumentar a quantidade de livros que são oferecidos no formato digital.PALAVRAS--CHAVE: livros digitais, mercado editorial, Era da Informação. THE DIGITAL BOOK MARKET IN THE INFORMATION AGE: EDITORIAL PERSPECTIVES ABSTRACTThe objective of this work is to study digital books and their process of consolidation in the market, in the context of the Information Age, and to investigate the validity of the new reading habits that have been highlighting in the publishing market, which increasingly presents more specific alternatives of formats for your product: the book. In addition to the bibliographic review, a field survey was carried out with twelve publishers from all over the country, from July to September, 2017. A questionnaire was developed to constitute qualitative research using quantitative data. The data collected were analyzed in order to relate the context of the Information Age and digital books. From the analysis, it was found that, despite the difficulties, most publishers it strives to increase the amount of books offered in the digital format.
