These tests are suitable for patients with intractable epilepsy and severe developmental delay. By performing these tests before and after surgery, small cognitive changes occurring soon after the surgery may be detected.

The authors examined the relationship between visual acuity and daily behavior in people with severe motor and intellectual disabilities (SMIDs). The visual acuity of 15 subjects was assessed using two methods: Teller Acuity Cards and the STYCAR balls vision test.
