Novel star‐shaped polymers with various stereo‐regular arm polymers are synthesized by a combination of stereospecific living anionic polymerization and transition metal‐catalyzed radical linking polymerization, in which the terminal halogen mediates the transformation of the growing active species from a carbanion into a carbon radical. Using this technique, a series of star polymers with isotactic and syndiotactic poly (methyl methacrylate) arms can be prepared with various stereocomplexation behaviors.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
