Student evaluation of teaching (SET) is carried out every semester at Malaysian universities and lecturers are evaluated based on student ratings. But very little is researched about what lecturers actually think about SET and whether it serves any meaningful purpose at all. This quantitative study involving six public universities on the East Coast of Peninsular Malaysia examines the extent to which male and female lecturers value their student evaluations of teaching (SET) and if their valuations differ significantly by gender. The study also elicits perceptions of male and female lecturers on the formative and summative functions the SET serves. A survey questionnaire comprising 29 Likert-scale items was employed to obtain data for this study. The respondents comprised 137 language instructors of English and Arabic proficiency courses for undergraduates from those six universities. Data were analysed descriptively and inferentially using descriptive statistics and independent sample t-test. The study produces several outcomes. The study found that although male lecturers value SET higher than their female colleagues, no significant differences are observed in their valuation of SET by gender. Also of significance is the observation that lecturers of both gender found SET more useful for formative rather than summative functions. This study itself is significant in order to understand the lecturers' perceptions of SET which will stimulate further discussions and thinking around the issue of strengthening the teaching practice as SET itself can be an effective tool for lecturer's development if lecturers themselves understand and value the process.
"Flipped classroom" business English classes are required at most universities that teach economics, and this study will investigate how these classes help students learn critical thinking skills and improve their academic performance, as well as what students think of this model. A multimedia textbook titled "English for Business" enhances the learning environment. This was an exploratory investigation that used a range of methodologies. The study examined children's critical thinking and academic progress (learning outcomes). Surveys of students' critical thinking abilities and placement assessments were utilized to acquire statistical data. The Cronbach alpha coefficients were used to evaluate the critical thinking test outcomes, and the aggregated data was analyzed using SPSS AMOS statistical software. The study revealed that teaching ESP and Business English to Economics students via the "flipped schoolroom" technique can enrich both the learners' and instructors' education experiences. Because students are held responsible for their progress, this method develops critical thinking skills and academic accomplishment by using a variety of teaching methods. A student-centered approach replaces the teacher-centered approach in the preceding paradigm.

A leader is prevalently a communicator in an organization, no matter the rule. A good leader typically has good communication skills, which allow them to elicit participation from the people they oversee. In particular, Muslim scholars are also pioneers of social and religious growth. Thus, competent communication efficiency is essential for them to lead people to a better way of life by part of Allah SWT. However, it is still found vast of Muslim scholars, which is uneven Islamic teaching presentation quality. Thus, the goal of this study is to come up with a decent speech that anaesthetizes the audience. This was accomplished by examining the use of hidden rhetoric in the address of TGB. Muhammad Zainul Majdi, the best Indonesian preacher in 2021. As a result, this qualitative study uses discourse analysis to examine his two speeches as samples and data sources. The result indicated that TGB. Muhammad Zainul Majdi applied a variety of hidden rhetorical techniques. In his Safari Da'wah Nusantara and national addresses, Muhammad Zainul Majdi used similitude, reverence, expertise, intelligence, and goodwill to demonstrate credibility or ethos and persuade the audience. Love or friendship versus hatred, Fear versus Confidence, Indignation versus Pity, and Admiration versus Envy are some of the pathos he uses. In terms of logos, He deals with three issues: parables, enthymeme, and data.
