A study of 46 patients diagnosed with gallstones by ultrasound, with indications for assessment of gallbladder function to consider percutaneous gallstone lithotripsy at several hospitals in Hanoi from August 2019 to March 2020. Result: mean age 41.76 ± 16.11, common age 30-50. Gallstones are more common in women than in men, with a male/female ratio of 1:1.1. Average BMI accounted for 76.9%; 45.7% of cases had one stone; gravel with size >10 mm accounted for the majority of 76.1%; 89% of stones were mobile, 95.7% of stones were hyperechoic with shadow. Gallbladder contractility index ≥ 40% accounted for 95.7%. The average gallbladder contractility index was 64.2 ± 16.1%, this index in men was 64.6 ± 15.5%, and in women, it was 63.7 ± 16.9%. 95.7% of cases still had gallbladder contractile function. Conclusion: Ultrasound plays an important role and has many advantages in diagnosing gallstones and evaluating gallbladder function before percutaneous gallstone lithotripsy.
A study of 135 cases without cerebral vascular malformations who were scan MSCT of cerebral arteries at Bach Mai hospital during the period from January 2019 to December 2019. Result: mean diameter of cerebral artery segments: left and right A1 segments: 2.28 ± 0.47 and 2.19 ± 0.53 mm; AcomA: 1.71 ± 0.68 mm; left and right M1 segments: 2.82 ± 0.46 mm and 2.8 ± 0.49 mm; left and right PcomA: 1.62 ± 0.5 mm and 1.67 ± 0.48 mm; left and right P1 segments: 2.22 ± 0.49 mm and 2.22 ± 0.56 mm; left and right P2 segments: 2.32 ± 0.38 mm and 2.35 ± 0.36 mm; BA: 3.41 ± 0.69 mm. The diameters of the cerebral arteries were similar in both sexes, with no difference on the right and left sides of the ring of Willis. The diameter of the edges of the Willis circle varied from aplastic and hypoplastic, which was mainly seen in the AcomA, PcomA, the A1 segment of the anterior cerebral artery, and P1 of the posterior cerebral artery. The transformations of the Willis ring included 17 forms, of which four simple transformations of the anterior part, four simple transformations of the posterior part, and nine combined transformations between the anterior and posterior parts. Mainly found aplasia or hypoplasia of the AcomA 14.1% and the PcomA 12.6%. Conclusion: the index of normalization of the segments of the Willis polygon and its variant forms contributed to bolder intervention planning in cerebrovascular disease treatment. A study of 100 patients with ureteral kidney stones, in which 66 cases of kidney stones and 68 cases of ureteral stones were taken with 128 slices of computerized tomography at Hanoi Medical University Hospital from September 2019 to the end of January 2020. Results: male/female ratio was 1.7/1. The mean age was 51.2 ± 11.7. The rate of renal function decline (creatinine increase) was 18%. The supersonic, X-ray, and Multi-slice Computer Tomography (MSCT) detected stones in 89%, 84%, and 100% of cases, respectively, including 32% of kidney stones, 34% of ureteral stones, 34% of stones in both kidneys and ureters, 63.6% kidney stones in many positions. Patients with two or more stones accounted for 78.8% and the average kidney stone size was 15.5 ± 10.9 mm. Ureteral stones in the upper third accounted for 54.4%, one stone accounted for 77.9%, and the average size of ureteral stones was 9.1 ± 3.6 mm. Complications of nephrolithiasis caused by stones account for 82%, and grades II and III are the most common. Complications of ureteral dilatation due to stones accounted for 51%, perirenal fat infiltration accounted for 24% and 32% of cases of drug excretion lasted more than 1 hour. Conclusion: MSCT plays an important role in diagnosing urinary stones and assessing renal function before treatment.
