This paper reports the first example of preparation of polypropylene/graphene oxide (PP/GO) nanocomposites via in situ Ziegler-Natta polymerization. A Mg/Ti catalyst species was incorporated into GO via surface functional groups including -OH and -COOH, giving a supported catalyst system primarily structured by nanoscale, predominantly single GO sheet. Subsequent propylene polymerization led to the in situ formation of PP matrix, which was accompanied by the nanoscale exfoliation of GO, as well as its gradual dispersion. Morphological examination of the ultimate PP/ GO nanocomposites by TEM and SEM techniques revealed effective dispersion in nanoscale of GO in PP matrix. High electrical conductivity was discovered with thus prepared PP/GO nanocomposites; for example, at a GO loading of 4.9 wt %, σ c was measured at 0.3 S 3 m -1 .
Background: Moral care provision is an essential part of nursing work. Nursing schools are responsible for developing moral competencies in nursing students. The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between moral competencies and the formation of professional identity among nursing students. Methods: This study was designed as a descriptive-correlational study. The study population consisted of nursing students who were enrolled in nursing schools at the time of the study. Two hundred and twenty-one nursing students completed the study tools. The research tools were a demographic questionnaire, Moral Development Scale for Professionals (MDSP), and Professional Identity Scale for Nursing Students (PISNS). Results: The mean (SD) of MDSP and PISNS scores were 45.69±5.90 and 55.61±12.75, respectively. There was a significant statistical relationship between MSDP and PISNS scores (p<0.05). A significant equation was found (f (2, 218) = 16.68, p<0.001) with an R2 of 0.113. The MSDP scores increased 0.136 for each score of PISNS, and married students had 2.452 scores higher than single students. Conclusions: There was a significant correlation between the formation of professional identity and development of morality in nursing students. By supporting the formation of professional identity, nursing schools can help the development of moral competencies in nursing students.
Hydrophobic/hydrophilic triblock copolymers of poly-(2-(N-ethylperfluorooctanesulfonamido)ethylmethyl acrylate) and poly(N,N′-dimethylacrylamide) (PD) were synthesized by sequential reversible addition−fragmentation chain transfer polymerization. Physically cross-linked hydrogels were produced by immersing compression-molded triblock copolymers into water. The copolymers and their hydrogels were characterized by differential scanning calorimetry, thermogravimetric analysis, thermal desorption-GC/MS analysis, swelling isotherms, wide-and small-angle X-ray scattering, and dynamic mechanical analysis. The equilibrium water sorption of the hydrogels depended on the length of the water-soluble polymer block (PD), and the block copolymers swelled more in water than a random copolymer of the same composition. The block copolymer hydrogels were viscoelastic, though the frequency dependence of the dynamic modulus was weak. The dynamic modulus of the block copolymer hydrogels ranged from ∼10 3 to 4 × 10 4 Pa, which was much lower than the modulus of a random copolymer hydrogel of the same composition.
