Overall, BC is useful in the detection of PIM use independent of diagnoses/conditions, whereas STOPP is useful in detection of PIM use considering the diagnoses/conditions. There is a need for consensus on using the tool for detection of PIM use in Indian elderly.
Purpose
Adverse effects are noticeable immediately after vaccination, especially when vaccinated to healthy people at the time of vaccination. The vaccine may cause adverse events which are very rare but adverse event following immunization surveillance becomes correspondingly more important in a less studied population like India. Hence, there is a need for carrying out a study pertaining to vaccine safety in the pediatric population of age 0–12 years and assessing the events occurring post-vaccination.
Materials and Methods
A prospective observational study was conducted in three primary healthcare centers and two tertiary care hospitals for 6 months from April 2016 to September 2016 with a total of 826 children enrolled. Detected adverse events for suspected vaccines were analyzed for causality by the World Health Organization causality assessment instrument. Sex-specific differences in incidences of adverse events were assessed.
Results
The cumulative adverse events were found highest in pentavalent vaccines (510 incidences, 62.04%) followed by the bacillus Calmette-Guérin vaccine (189 incidences, 22.99%). The study didn’t reveal any significant association in incidences of adverse events following immunization and sex of the children.
Conclusion
Vaccine safety surveillance studies are need of the hour in developing countries to maintain public trust in vaccines, the ultimate objective being to have vaccines with the most favorable benefit-risk profile. The present study discussed the various adverse events following immunization and suggested the absence of any sex-specific difference in incidences of adverse events in children.
Dapagliflozin which is also known as Farxiga in the US and Forxiga in the EU is a drug which was developed by Bristol-Myers Squibb in partnership with Astra Zeneca. It is also available in Oxra and it is marking by Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. It contains the active substance Dapagliflozin which is the second member of selective sodium glucose co-transporter-2 (SGLT-2) inhibitor and it is the first group among oral anti-diabetic agents which are independent of insulin secretion. The drug Dapagliflozin shows the action of reducing the blood glucose by preventing the reabsorption of glucose at the renal proximal tubule and avoids insulin resistance. It is a new molecule that helps in maintaining the glycemic control either in mono therapy or combinational therapy or add on therapy. This is a review article which summarizes the details of Dapagliflozin.
Introduction: Interest in studying marriage-related issues has increased in recent years. Researchers have demonstrated a constant decrease in marital satisfaction over time in married couples. Marital Satisfaction Scale (MSS) can be used to examine how marital satisfaction affects couple's well-being; A MSS was developed in Pakistan showing good reliability and internal consistency. Objevctive: Present study aimed to translate and validate MSS to Telugu (T-MSS) language. Methods: Present study implemented standard methodology for Translation, Adaptation and Validation of instruments for use in cross-cultural healthcare research along with World health organization process of translation and adaptation of instruments. Results: 141 first-married individuals participated in the present study to assess validity, internal consistency and reliability. Cronbach alpha (α) of T-MSS was 0.863 demonstrating good validity and internal consistency, Pearson product moment coefficient of correlation (r) was found to be 0.845 and Cohen's kappa (κ) was found to be 0.759 demonstrating good test-retest reliability. Conclusion: T-MSS is a useful tool in Telugu language demonstrating good reliability and internal consistency. It can be utilized in diverse settings like social and clinical research to assess various factors related to marital satisfaction.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
