A new species of Rubiaceae, Psydrax gialaiensis B.H.Quang, T.B.Tran & V.S.Dang, sp. nov., is described and illustrated from the Kon Chu Rang Nature Reserve, Gia Lai Province, southern Vietnam. This species is characterized by having strigose branches and leaves, a conspicuously bulging, short corolla tube, an accrescent nectary disc and a style with a dense tuft of hairs, which clearly distinguishes it from the other species in the genus. A description, vernacular name, conservation assessment, illustration, photographs, and a key to the species of Psydrax in Vietnam are provided.
This paper proposes a system to effectively identify brain tumors on MRI images using artificial intelligence algorithms and ADAS optimization function. This system is developed with the aim of assisting doctors in diagnosing one of the most dangerous diseases for humans. The data used in the study is patient image data collected from Bach Mai Hospital, Vietnam. The proposed approach includes two main steps. First, we propose the normalization method for brain MRI images to remove unnecessary components without affecting their information content. In the next step, Deep Convolutional Neural Networks are used and then we propose to apply ADAS optimization function to build predictive models based on that normalized dataset. From there, the results will be compared to choose the most optimal method. Those results of the evaluated algorithms through the coefficient F1-score are greater than 94% and the highest value is 97.65%.
This study researched the reality of STEAM Education knowledge and practical kills of 274 managers (9) and preschool teachers (265) teaching children aged 3-6 in three provinces of Central Vietnam: Thua Thien Hue, Da Nang, and Dak Lak. This is a quantitative study using the teacher's rubric on the Likert scale of 4 degrees (for self-assessment questions about knowledge) and 6 degrees (for self-assessment questions about skills). The results showed that the knowledge and practice of preschool teachers about STEAM education for preschoolers were not high. Educators self-assess that they have some understanding of STEAM education (level 3\4) and skills that need further improvement (level 3\6), in which the planning skill group has the lowest average score. There was a positive correlation between the variables of knowledge and practical skills of STEAM education. Comparing the knowledge and practical skills of preschool teachers among the three provinces pointed out that there is no significant difference in knowledge but there is a significant difference in the practical skills of preschool teachers. This is the basis for conducting further studies towards training and fostering to improve knowledge and practice for preschool teachers on STEAM education in accordance with the characteristics of human resources in each locality.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
