Some experimental conditions which generate the dislocation-enhanced Snoek peak in Fe-C alloys are presented. The results indicate that the movement of non-screw dislocation segments is involved in the relaxation mechanism. The results are consistent with the movement of non-screw dislocations in a medium with a viscosity proportional to the Snoek relaxation time, or alternatively, to a limiting case of the generation of kinkpairs on non-screw dislocation, i.e. a carbon Snoek-Köster relaxation
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
