Introduction: People with HIV/AIDS infected partners does not mean they should stop their sexual activities. Sexual needs fulfilment required commitment and support from their partners consider that the need of the willingness to gained the intimacy. The aim of the research to describing the people experienced in the sexual fulfilment with HIV/AIDS partners. Methods: This research applied descriptive phenomenology qualitative as the method, with in-depth interviews of 8 people with HIV/AIDS partners at Spirit Paramacitta Foundation, Denpasar. Results: Through the thematic analysis with the Colaizzi procedure, found 4 themes that illustrate the experience of fulfilling the sexual needs. The themes are: (1) The Declining of Sexual Relations Quantity and Quality as the Impact of The Changes of Partners Positive HIV Status, (2) Internal Conflicts Emerging in Responding to Sexual Assault, (3) Form of Sexual Activities Adaptation as the Impact of The Changes of Partners Positive HIV Status, (4) The Efforts to Increasing Sexual Quality. Conclusions: The role of the counselor in providing information related to safe sexual relationships is a solution that can overcome the fears and doubts of serodiscordant couples for sexual intercourse.
Latar belakang: Penatalaksanaan medis kanker dapat dibedakan menjadi dua antara lain kuratif dan perawatan paliatif. Penatalaksanaan medis kuratif erat kaitannya dengan pemberian chemotherapy, radiasi, dan obat hormonal. Sedangkan perawatan paliatif cenderung diartikan sebagai tindakan yang dilaksanakan untuk meningkatkan kualitas hidup pasien kanker. Akupresur adalah tidakan penekatan pada titik-titik strategis tubuh dengan menggunakan atau tanpa alat bantu. Salah satu titik akupresur yang dipercaya dapat mengatasi mual muntah pasca kemoterapi adalah titik Pericardium 6 (P6), yaitu titik yang terletak pada pangkal pergelangan tangan bagian dalam. Tujuan: mengatasi mual muntah akibat kemoterapi. Metode: penerapan akupresur P6 dan edukasi perawat. Hasil: Penerapan EBN penggunaan gelang akupresur P6 (Sea-BandÒ) dan edukasi perawat untuk mencegah mual muntah akibat kemoterapi dilakukan selama 5 (lima) hari terhadap 12 (dua belas) pasien kanker di lantai 4 dan 8 gedung A, RSCM. penerapan EBN gelang akupresur P6 dan edukasi perawat mengalami puncak mual muntah pada hari ke-2 dan ke-3 post kemoterapi. Pada evaluasi hari ke-5 terdapat 5 (lima) pasien yang mengalami mual muntah ringan. Kesimpulan: Penerapan EBN akupresur titik P6 dengan menggunakan gelang akupresur Sea-BandÒ mudah diterapkan, aman dan efektif dalam menurunkan keluhan mual muntah pasien kanker yang menjalani kemoterapi.
Background: Every single person including people living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA) have five basic needs; one of which is a physiological sexual need. Unfortunately, PLWHA face many difficulties in fulfilling their sexual needs due to the stigma and fear of infecting their partner. Purpose: The purpose of this study was to explore the lived experience of PLWHA and partner's responses toward the fulfillment of sexual needs. Methods: This study was a qualitative descriptive phenomenological research, which collected data through in-depth interviews from fourteen PLWHA in Paramacitta Spirit Foundation, Denpasar. The participants were recruited through snowball sampling, informed and gave consent for their voluntary participation. The data were analyzed using Colaizzi's phenomenological method. Results: The study revealed five themes describing the sexual experiences of PLWHA, including: (1) the fulfillment of sexual need of PLWHA, (2) the roles of partner for PLWHA, (3) various perceived stimuli which could increase the sexual desire, (4) the perceived factors which could incapacitate the ability and quality of sexual desire, and (5) the efforts to increase sexual capability and quality. Conclusion: Sex was an important need for PLWHA to meet. Despite having a virus, after undergoing anti-retroviral (ARV) treatment, PLWHA felt healthier, and thus they could meet their sexual need like a normal person in general.
