Background: An individual naturally possesses risk factors that may develop as the stressors and protective factors that would affect their mental well-being. Aim: This study ought to explore the effect of risk factor (bullying, anxiety, stress, emotional issue, behavioral issue, hyperactivity, and issue with peers) and protective factor (self-esteem, family relationship, prosocial) on the mental health status among adolescents. Method: This was a cross-sectional study involving 240 junior high school students in the area of Denpasar City, Bali. Participants were asked to fill the research instrument using questionnaires. The SPSS 23.0 and smart PLS was employed to analyzed the collected data. Result: Findings revealed that the risk factor had delivered a negative and significant effect on the protective factor and mental health status. Further, statistical analysis also discovered the positive and significant effect of the protective factor on the mental health status. Protective factor also performed as a significant mediator that affected the influence of the risk factor’s impact on the mental health status. Conclusion: The risk factor needs to be prevented and the protective factor is necessary to be enhanced to maintain the state of mental well-being among the adolescents.
Self-efficacy perawat didefinisikan sebagai persepsi perawat dalam melakukan tindakan keperawatan professional sesuai dengan kompetensi keperawatan. Berdasarkan penelitian sebelumnya, self-efficacy perawat diketahui memiliki pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap beberapa aspek seperti komunikasi, perilaku asertif hingga kinerja keperawatan. Berbagai cara dapat dilakukan untuk meningkatkan self-efficacy perawat salah satunya adalah pendekatan Neuro-linguistic programming. Artikel ini dibuat untuk mengetahui dampak positif Neuro-Linguistic Programming terhadap self-efficacy perawat. Neuro-linguistic programming terdiri dari beberapa metode seperti sensory acuity, reframing, anchoring, rapport, pacing dan leading. Melalui beberapa penelitian diketahui bahwa neuro-linguistic programming dapat meningkatkan pengetahuan, keterampilan dan sikap perawat, kemampuan berkomunikasi perawat, manajemen diri, kesehatan mental, stress kerja higga self-efficacy perawat dalam melakukan kompetensi keperawatan. Neuro-linguistic programming dapat menjadi sebuah solusi untuk meningkatkan self-efficacy perawat yang kemudian berdampak pada kinerja dan kualitas tenaga keperawatan professional.
Adolescents are at risk in experiencing mental health problems if the risk factors owned are more than the protective factors. This study aims to identify the effectiveness of Mental Health nursing promotive and preventive models on protective factors, risk factors and Adolescents’ Mental Health. This research was with quasi-experiment, design employed randomization control group pre and post-test design conducted on 240 adolescents, which was divided into both groups equally. The study found that protective factors (self-esteem, family relationship, and prosocial ability) has increased after intervention model by 10.2%; 4.4%; 15.7%, respectively, risk factors (bullying behavior, anxiety, emotional problems, behavioral problems, and peer problems) has decreased after the intervention model by 9.8%; 26.1%; 25.9%; 17.5%; 22.4%, respectively. The model also increased the adolescents’ mental health after intervention model by 14.9%. The mental health nursing promotive and preventive model is effective to increase the mental health of adolescents by 21.3%. Mental health nursing’ promotive and preventive model could be used as basic needs to implement early detection regarding mental health of adolescents in the UKS scope and involving teachers’ role, as well as parents in maintaining mental health.
