This study aims to describe the existence, values, and art forms inspired by Panji stories. The data sources were Panji stories and art forms as results of Panji story reception. The data were collected through documentation, recording, and observations. They were analyzed using a qualitative textual method with a literary reception perspective. The findings are as follows. First, Panji stories are resources for the development of arts and cultures spreading widely and acknowledged as Panji cultures. Second, there are ten values in Panji stories, i.e. history, education, exemplary deeds, heroism, culture, aesthetics, local wisdom, ecology, politics, and morality. Third, art and cultural forms inspired by Panji stories include literary works (folklores/classical literature), temple reliefs, dances, performances, and paintings.
Penelitian ini bertujuan (1) mengidentifikasi mitos yang diyakini masyarakat adat sekitar kawasan hutan lindung Baluran dan Gilimanuk, (2) mengkaji fungsi sosial mitos yang diyakini masyarakat adat kawasan hutan Baluran dan Gilimanuk dalam pelestarian hutan, dan (3) merumuskan model pelestarian hutan yang berbasis mitos (kearifan lokal). Dalam penelitian ini, digunakan pendekatan sosiologi sastra yang dipertajam dengan pendekatan etnografis; dengan memanfaatkan data penelitian mitos yang hidup dalam masyarakat adat sekitar kawasan hutan lindung Baluran dan Gilimanuk beserta masyarakat pendukungnya. Adapun model analisisnya adalah kualitatif deskriptif. Temuan penelitian ini sebagai berikut. Pertama, dalam masyarakat adat kawasan hutan Baluran dan Gilimanuk, terdapat mitosmitos yang masih diyakini masyarakatnya. Kedua, mitos memiliki fungsi sosial bagi masyarakat adat karena dapat menggerakkan tindakan sosial masyarakatnya untuk melakukan pelestarian hutan. Ketiga, model yang ditawarkan adalah model pelestarian hutan yang berbasis keyakinan masyarakat pada mitos (dengan nilainilai kearifan lokal). Abstract: This research aims to (1) identify the myth believed by indigenous people living around protected forests of Baluran and Gilimanuk, (2) study the social function of myth believed by indigenous people of Baluran and Gilimanuk forest areas in terms of forest conservation, and (3) formulate a model of forest conservation based on myth (local wisdom). This research uses the approach of sociology of literature, perfected by ethnographic approach. The data are the myths existing among indigenous people living around the protected forests of Baluran and Gilimanuk along with the supporting community. The analysis model is descriptive qualitatative. The research has found three findings. First, among the indigenous people in the area of Baluran and Gilimanuk forest, there are myths which are still believed by the community. Second, myth has social functions for indigenous people for its ability to encourage social actions of the community to manage forest conservation. Third, the proposed model is forest conservation model based on the community’s belief in myths (along with the local wisdom values). This study analyzes authors’ perception of the Balinese social world, focusing onsocial changes as effects of tourism and modernization. The study employed the qualitativeapproach involving the sociology of literature, especially the sosiology of authors.Berger’s social contruction theory was used as a triangulation technique. The study showsthe following findings. First, the Balinese authors subjectively propose a reconstruction ofthe modern Balinese people’s way of thinking to face modernization or changingconditions. Second, the Balinese authors are ambiguous people, in the sense that on the onehand they criticize Bali, and on the other hand they love Bali. Third, the Balinese authorsoffer truths that are not dogmatic in nature but derived from daily experiences.Keywords: author plurality, social world, plurality
AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan peta sastra Indonesia sastrawan Jawa Timur.Pemetaan dimaksudkan mengungkapkan kekhasan sastra Indonesia yang diproduksisastrawan daerah, khususnya sastrawan Jawa Timur. Metode yang digunakan adalahkualitatif-tekstual, dengan strategi pemerolehan data dokumentasi dengan teknik simakcatat.Hasil penelitian sebagai berikut. Pertama, sastra Indonesia sastrawan Jawa Timurlebih didominasi genre prosa (cerpen) dan puisi, serta memiliki kekhasan pengungkapankearifan lokal Jawa Timur. Kedua, sastrawan Jawa Timur memiliki peta kekuatanmemproduksi cerpen dan puisi dengan daerah basis Lamongan, Banyuwangi, Ngawi,Surabaya, Gresik, Sidoarjo, dan Sumenep.Kata kunci: sastra Indonesia, sastrawan daerah, peta sastra, kearifan lokal
