The study examines the influence of work-life balance, job satisfaction and organizational commitment on employee performance among administrative staff in Northern region universities in Malaysia. The study adopted quantitative research method, collecting the data from two hundred and seventy-one administrative staff respondents by using probability sampling technique. Data collected were analysed using Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS). The data were analysed using different statistical techniques such as reliability analysis, descriptive analysis, correlation analysis (Pearson Correlation Analysis) and regression analysis (Multiple Regression Analysis). The regression results indicate that all independent variables which are work-life balance, job satisfaction and organizational commitment are positively correlated with the dependent variable which is employee performance. However, the study concludes that for effective employee performance to be enhanced, the level of motivation needs to be improved. This would determine the sustainability of organizational goals either in private or public sector.
Using effectation theory, this study accesses the practical significance of entrepreneurial education in enhancing students’ entrepreneurial intention of examining the students’ perceived significance of access to finance as a determining factor to entreprenurship as well as the moderating effect of financial access on the relationship between entrepreneurial education and entrepreneurial intention. To achieve this, an online survey via google form was sent out to UUM students who have at one time has entrepreneurial education exposure. This study includes both postgraduate students and undergraduate students, international and local students. 250 students decided to fill up the online survey within a period of one month. The data collected was analyzed using SPSS version 23 with pre-installed process macro developed by Hayes (2013). The findings reveal that both entrepreneurial education and access to finance contributes significantly to their entrepreneurial intention. However, the students perceive access to finance as a causal factor to entrepreneurial intention rather than an effectuation factor. This implies that the education offered can be argued to have more of managerial implications rather than entrepreneurial approach.
In recent years the issue of tax haven has been subjected under rigorous scrutiny by both the policymakers and regulatory authorities, due to the extent of the effects it has on both the developed nation (beneficial country) and particularly the developing nation which are the targeted tax haven territory. This study aimed at providing insight into the main determinants of tax haven and their effects. The method employed in this study involved reviewing prior study on tax haven. Findings suggests that the main determinants of tax haven region is not only the ones enshrined in Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) criteria but others such governance index, institutional weakness, substantial amount of GDP from service industries etc. This study has also revealed that the conduit by which tax haven is being perpetrated is mainly via offshore financial centers (OFCs) which involve banks secrecy, transfer pricing (i.e. the devil in disguise) etc. This study recommends that stringent control measures and penalties for tax-resistant behaviors should be put in place by the international regulators like the World Bank and International Monetary Fund (IMF).
Transfer of training is important to organizations as they have devoted lot of money to send their employees for training to increase the employees’ knowledge, skills and abilities. This study aimed to examines the relationships of rewards, supervision, and peer relationship on the transfer of training in volving employees at FOA Headquarters, Kuala Lumpur. Self administered questionnaires were adapted from various sources and consisted of items related to transfer of training, rewards, supervision and peer relationships . A total of 344 questionnaires were distributed but only 265 were returned and used for further assessment. This study applied descriptive statistics, reliability and inferential analysis to examine the relationships among the variables. The results showed that only rewards and supervision h ad significant relationship with transfer of training while peer relationship was found to be insignificant.
