In 2014, Indonesia was announced to be the host the 2018 XVIII Asian Games, the biggest sports event in Asia. This announcement is expected to positively impact the country’s economy and investors as there would be thousands of spectators from both the country and overseas. A direct impact of the event is that Indonesia would prepare the entire venue. This study examines whether the capital market participants react to the announcement. For this purpose it tests a total of 25 companies in the infrastructure, utility, and transportation sectors listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange. A standard event study methodology is employed to examine the existence of abnormal returns around the event. The results show the abnormal returns on two days before and two days after the announcement. However, overall, there are no significant abnormal returns before and after the announcement. The study does not find a significant difference of abnormal returns before and after the announcement. Besides, there was no difference in trading volume activity before and after the announcement as the host of the XVIII Asian Games. In summary, the capital market participants do not consider the event to be a significant issue that determines their investment decision in the capital market.
The urgency of the research is that many business people understand financial literacy but seem to have less impact on financial performance. It is probably because some business people have not followed up with changes in good financial behavior. This study aims to determine the effect of financial literacy on financial behavior, financial satisfaction, and financial performance. In addition, it also knows the effect of financial behavior on financial satisfaction and financial performance and the effect of financial satisfaction on financial performance. The population in this study is the entire batik industry in Indonesia with large and medium scale, as many as 208 batik business actors. The sampling technique is a saturated sample or census, where all members of the population become members of the sample. The data analysis technique used SMART PLS 03 software. According to the study’s findings, financial literacy has a significant effect on financial behavior and financial performance, and financial behavior significantly affects financial satisfaction. Financial satisfaction furthermore has a significant effect on financial performance. However, financial literacy has no effect on financial satisfaction, and financial behavior has also been found to have no effect on financial performance. This research implies that the financial performance of batik industry players will increase if they have financial behavior that can create added value and the importance of financial literacy.
The purpose of this study is to get an overview of the knowledge and financial aspects of entrepreneurship to be a decisive part in the management of Bumdesa. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative with a case study approach. The results obtained are from the aspect of financial literacy of the Bumdesa management on human resource input, knowledge of the preparation of financial reports and the inadequate ability to analyze financial statements so that they have not been able to make financial reports as a basis for decision making. The financial aspect of entrepreneurship can be seen from the Bumdesa business idea. running a business idea, the ability to organize a business, develop innovation as a whole have been implemented, but have not run optimally, so that it has an impact on the Bumdesa financial performance.
This article aims to analyze the effect of competence, participatory leadership style and organizational culture on employee performance at Pesenkopi in Malang. This study used a sample of 60 respondents who were taken using saturation sampling technique.data were analyzed using multiple linear regression using software version 24. The results showed thatcompetence, participatory leadership style and organizational culture had a significant positive effect on the performance of Pesenkopi employees in Malang.
