The paper intends to re-design a permanent magnets synchronous generator (PMSG) having low efficiency, in order to bring it in the range of actual generators. The starting point was a real machine which was transformed from induction machine into permanent magnets machine for series production. It had low efficiency and low power factor. By following the operational aspects of the machine and the theoretical phenomenon presented by electrical machines manufacturers, the machine was re-designed and a superior efficiency was obtained.
Nowadays electric machines drives are used more often at variable speed. This paper presents a comparative study of induction machine parameters for different operating modes at variable speed and variable load in order to determine its losses and efficiency.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
