Scholar fatigue should be carefully evaluated to be able to interfere when needed. Goals: the evaluation of differences/similarities regarding fatigue at pupils studying at different. High schools. Material and methods: the study was done on a group of 237 teenagers studying at 3 different high schools in Iasi: Sport high school (75 teenagers), Music High school (73 students) and Grammar School (89 students). The pupils had to fill in a questionnaire regarding the emersion of fatigue. The results were analysed using the Pearson CHI Square test. Results and discussions: in 45.99% of cases, students are often tired, the calculated differences being statistically significant for a p<0.01 (f=4, χ²=15.500), fatigue being often acknowledged by Grammar School teenagers. The phenomenon appears in the middle of the week (48.10% ,p>0.001 f=4, χ²=20.862) and at midday (43.03%, p<0.01, f=4, χ²=11.738). The statistically significant differences show a high frequency of positive answers for Grammar School students. One of the factors favouring the appearance of fatigue is the small number of sleeping hours (6-7 hours -75.94%). The calculated differences are statistically significant for a p<0.001 (f=4, χ²=21.716) and show a high frequency of teenagers who sleep a little at Grammar School. Conclusions: the appearance of fatigue is different for each highschool, which enforces an exact knowledge of the features of teenagers’ loads. Keywords: highschool, scholar load, insufficient sleep.
At present, the ideal of beauty in adolescents undergoes significant changes. The idea of fat and beautiful has disappeared, being replaced by the concept of flexible person. Sometimes this concept is exaggerated, so it is necessary to monitor the physical development of young people. Purpose: Assessing the relationship that exists between physical development of young people and the time granted to exercise. Material and methods: The study was conducted on a sample of 133 adolescents (37 boys and 96 girls) from Garabet Ibraileanu High School of Iasi. The diagnosis of physical development was established by evaluating the correlation between height and weight. Time for physical activity was obtained using a questionnaire. The results were processed using Pearson test. Results and discussion: Time for physical activity is in most cases up to 30 minutes (56.4%), which is very little. Student height has mean values in 60.9% of cases, as body weight (68.4%). Correlation between physical development and time for physical activity is not statistically significant (p> 0.05, Gl = 6, χ² = 6.146). Harmonious development is present in 58.6% of students. If we correlate diagnostic development with time used in physical exercise, we find statistically insignificant differences (p> 0.05, Gl = 6, χ² = 5.355), indicating the existence of poor information concerning the role of exercise in maintaining the health of young people. Conclusions: Students have little information about how to maintain a healthy body weight. They do not use the balanced diet-exercise association to keep fit.
The origin of the family environment and exercise are external factors that can influence the growth and development of children and young people. This study was conducted on a sample of 250 fifth grade students from a rural area in Romania. The evolution of anthropologic indicators and motor skills were assessed with the help of the push-up evaluation. The height indicated a mean value in 45.2% and 4.0% in youth with pathological values. Body weight also fit into average values in 56.8% with 11.6% students with pathological values. Harmonious development appears in 48% of the cases with 13.2% students with pathological values. The 10 mandatory push-ups could be done only by 42.4% of the sample. The correlation between the diagnosis of physical development and motor skills highlights statistically significant differences among girls at a p< 0.01 (ƒ =9, χ²=22.235). It can be concluded that careful monitoring is required in order to be able to quickly correct any deviation from the normal evolution.
Growth and development are processes characterizing in the early years of a person. There are some differences in the evolution of these two processes dependent on the sex of the person and the family of origin. Material and Methods: The study was conducted on a sample of 81 students of 5th class coming from two villages in Botosani County. It was assessed physical development (using national reference values) and motor skills (number of elements) from scoring scales. The study was conducted on two different communities and sex. Processing of the results was performed using Pearson Test. Results and Discussion: height dominant values are average (49.38%), calculated on communities and sex differences were not statistically significant. Weight most frequently average (49.38%), not statistically significant differences calculated. Diagnosis of physical development highlights the existence of harmony in 54.32% cases. The maximum vote on pushups appears only in 17.28% cases. Differences calculated on sex are statistically significant at p <0.01 (fl = 3, χ2 = 8.001) and indicate that there are quicker progress of female students in which puberty occurs earlier and is accompanied by better motor skills. Conclusions: In interpreting the results of students in sports trials should consider a number of factors and not just one.
Background: One of the most pressing problems for athletes is related to the end of their career, a situation that presents serious challenges in the attempt to enter the labor market in the absence of an adequate education. Despite the fact that successful sports students encounter some problems in terms of time allocated to school, consistent work will ultimately provide them with a rewarding career and, most importantly, a relevant social role to inspire other athletes who are at the beginning of their careers. A successful approach to dual career cannot take place if athletes and their entourage (coaches, parents, teachers) are not aware of its importance. By analyzing the concept from different angles by professionals (EU, governments, ministries), dual career can be implemented in an efficient way and much faster if the appropriate institutions are involved. The use of mass media to create interest and content in the sports field has managed to produce major interest among specialists in the field. Methods: In this study, the answers of 30 mass media specialists were analyzed to understand how “dual career” is promoted for the performance athlete in the mass media in Romania. In order to analyze if there is any connection between mass media, dual career and the profile of the performance athlete, we applied a chi-square test and Pearson and Spearman correlations. Results: The obtained results indicate a weak connection between the analyzed terms. Conclusions: The conclusions reached allow us to form an overview of the analyzed terms, managing to create directions for action in order to constantly improve the phenomenon in Romania.
