-025Synthesis and Transformations of Perfluoro-2-methyl-3-azido-2pentene.-The reaction between perfluoromethylpentene (I) and sodium azide reveals the facts determining the structure of the heterocycles obtained. Interaction of (I) with sodium azide yields the azidopentene (II), stable at -20 • C. This compound decomposes at room temperature in CCl 4 , accompanied by N 2 elimination and formation of azirine (III). Reaction of (I) with sodium azide in Me-CN/Et-OH yields the stable triazoline (V). The pathway for stabilization of unstable heterocyclic systems consists in their transfer into thermodynamically more stable heterocycles by the interaction with nucleophilic reagents.-(FURIN, GEORGII G.; GATILOV, YURII V.; BAGRYANSKAY, IRINA YU.; ZHUZHGOV, EDUARD L.; J.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
