The creation of the high capacity transport vehicles where vibro active parts are increasingly used that inevitably leads to an increase in vibration and noise levels and it adversely affects the locomotive crews as well as pollute acoustically while operating in a residential area. This problem is most relevant for rolling stock. The recommendations of the European Union are aimed at reducing the noise of the railway transport directly in its places of origin as rolling stock and track structures. It should be noted that the noise decline should not be limited to measures of the indirect protection: the construction of the noise protection walls and the use of the noise protection windows in buildings located close to the railway track. First of all, in the opinion of the European Union, it is necessary to implement measures to suppress noise in the sources themselves.
For solving the problem, the research has been carried out by different experts from foreign countries. However, the process of the formation vibro acoustic characteristics is not well understood.
The diesel locomotives and locomotives are intensively exploited. It should be considered that one of the main sources of the air and structural noise component is an internal combustion engine for these machines, the noise and vibration levels which are practically impossible to reduce in the industrial conditions. Therefore, on the basis of the theoretical and experimental studies, the practical recommendations have been developed for achieving sanitary noise standards by ensuring the required sound absorption and sound insulation values.
The paper is devoted to the derivation of the noise level dependences and vibration velocities of elements and units of the drive system of the rail grinding machines. It should be noted that the vibro-acoustic characteristics of the drive system of rail grinding machines have not been studied enough. The negative impact on the operator of the increased vibration and noise levels is known as diseases caused by noise and vibration are the second and third in the list of occupational diseases. It should be highlighted that the safety in the operation of rail grinders largely depends on operator fatigue, which is actually determined by the influence of vibration and noise. Consequently, the problem of the vibro-acoustic safety of the rail grinding machines is relevant and has both technological and socio-economic significance. This article presents the results of theoretical studies of the processes of vibration excitation and generation of wheelset noise as one of the main causes of the increased noise in the general drive acoustic system of the rail grinders.
The paper presents the obtained results of the vibration studies, particularly, the structural elements of the railway rolling stock, created at the driver workplaces, structures of the internal combustion engines, hoods, frames while moving and a stationary machine, which determine the vibration spectral composition and propose the specific engineering solutions for the noise and vibration protection system.
This article presents a conceptualized analysis of technology-related risks for a transportation safety system. It also considers its subsystems that impact safety. The scheme developed allowed defining the key factor influencing transport safety through accounting various destabilizing impacts. The authors claim that the human factor is the key one, which is especially true for locomotive crews responsible for transportation. Locomotive crew working conditions are described in a visualized combination of negative effects people suffer in an engine cab. Based on the statistics collected and analyzed, the article presents specific occupational diseases of transportation workers. The dynamics of mental capacity and the state of the cardiovascular system of locomotive crews were analyzed using the WAIS test. The research results can be used in the practices of the Russian Railways to facilitate the efficiency and coherence in decision making related to labor safety.
