X-Ray crystallographic analysis indicates that relationship between structure and the herbicidal activity Our present analysis shows that in the inactive salt 1, l'-tetramethylene-Z,2'-bipyridylium dibromide (I) the inter-ring angle is 65.8" and the length of the central bond is 1-48A, in good agreement with accepted values for the C(sp2)-C(spz) single bond length.3 Crystals of (I) belong to space group R$c (D&) with crystals of the title compound contain the triaquo-exhibited by certain of these salts.lP2 hydrogen ion H,O,+.
