In two previous reports nucleon-meson cascade calculations were carried out for several cases of interest in the design of the transverse shield for the proposed 45-Gev linear electron accelerator at Stanford University. In this report res1.1J.ts are given for two additional cases, iii Table of Contents
Nucleon-meson cascade calculations have been carried out and the dose as a function of depth has been obtained for an 800-Mev proton bP.a.m incident on a shield. The physical properties used for the shielding medium are only a rough approximation to the properties of any particular medium.
Using the straight-ahead approximation, nucleon-meson cascade calculations have been carried out for several solar-flare proton spectra incident on a shield. The shield material has approximately the properties of aluminum. Both spherical-shell and slab geometries are considered.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
