A simple, green, cost-effective, and eco-friendly approach to synthesize carbon dots from biowaste, namely the fruit pod of Borassus flabellifer and stem of Trigonella foenum-graecum L, is studied by one-pot hydrothermal treatment. As-synthesized carbon dots are characterized by Fourier transform Infra-red Spectroscopy (FT-IR), UV Spectroscopy (UV), Photoluminescence (PL) spectrometry, 3D optical profilometer, and Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM). The synthesized carbon dots show good anti-microbial properties for Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, and B. cereus bacterial cultures.
