In the crystal structure of the title compound, C9H14N4
2+·2Br−, the cation and anions have crystallographic mirror symmetry, with the mirror plane running through the central CH2 group for the cation. The latter are stacked along the a axis, forming channels hosting the bromide anions. The crystal packing is stabilized by C—H⋯Br hydrogen-bonding interactions, generating a two-dimensional network.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
