The chestnut (Castanea sativa Miller) forests from Extremadura and Astur-Cantabrian regions have been studied and compared in ecological terms. Parameters which discriminate significantly chestnut forests from both areas have been researched too. The study has been carried out using different multivariate techniques (PCA, DA).
