The germanium (IV) -fluoride species in various acid media have been investigated by solvent extraction, solubility, and potentiometric methods. The results are interpreted in terms of a series of mononuclear fluorohydroxygermanium (IV) species in which the number of fluorides bound per germanium tends t o a maximum value of 5. The formation curve in 0.50 Af perchloric acid is explained in terms of stability constants of species GeF4(OH);-and GeFs(OH)(;+')-.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
