Liberal feminism abbreviates women’s right and their empowerment. The aim of this study highlights liberal feminism in Namita Gokhale’s works The Book of Shadows (2001), Priya: In Incredible Indyaa (2011) and Things to leave Behind (2016). The features of liberal feminism exhibit the women protagonists’ grief and exertion to attain their goal and their responsibilities. Namita Gokhale is a multifarious writer, and her popular works are The Book of Shadows (2001), Priya: In Incredible Indyaa (2011) and Things to leave Behind (2016). Indian Fiction in general as well as in Indian English Fiction, both original and in translation (Gupta, 2020). The selected works have the issues of liberal feminism ideas that reflect throughout her writing. In Namita Gokhale’s works, the major protagonists that represent liberal feminist attributes are Rachita, Priya and Tilottama. Each character has the reflection of liberal feminist ideas through their life. The notable thinkers of liberal feminism are John Stuart Mill, Mary Wollstonecraft, Betty Friedan, Rosemarie Tong, Susan Moller Okin, Martha Nussbaum and Zillah Eisenstein.
Liberal feminism is the emerging mainstream feminism that spotlights gender inequality and women’s liberation within the context of liberal democracy. The aim of the study focuses on the perspectives of liberal feminism using prominent ideas of liberal thinkers in Meena Kandasamy’s award-winning novel When I Hit You: Or, A Portrait of the Writer as a Young Wife (2017). The methodology of the study includes concepts of liberal feminism in the text, and it is substantiated and explored using the ideologies of notable liberal thinkers such as Mary Wollstonecraft’s A Vindication of the Rights of Women, Betty Friedan’s The Feminine Mystique and John Stuart Mill’s On Liberty and The Subjection of Women. The protagonist’s transition from a submissive to a self-liberated persona strengthens the novel’s credibility as a liberal feminist text. The paper also attempts to show that the concepts of liberal feminism very well appear in the selected text.

It is a fundamental medium for engagement and communication. It not only represents and interprets facts and observations, but it also has an impact on people's views and actions because it is an integral aspect of society's cultural conditions. As a result, the current research will concentrate on the language and linguistics aspects of notable Indian writer Meena Kandasamy and her well-known works such as Touch (2006), Ms. Militancy (2010), The Gypsy Goddess (2014) and When I Hit You (2017). The study's findings reveal that Kandasamy's work transcends the boundaries of postcolonial mobility and diversity by demonstrating the material and the subject matter's resolute tenacity, authenticity, and rawness.
Violence remains one of modern society’s most pressing global public health issues. As a result, the current study’s objective is to examine the text, The Gypsy Goddess, in the concept of Structural Violence, which is one of the most lethal forms of violence, from a broader perspective in terms of political, economic, gender and health aspects. The methodology of the study incorporates a documentary text, The Gypsy Goddess by Meena Kandasamy, which aids with the illustrations of actual records and a survey of the victims of the Kilvenmani massacre, which happened in the state of Tamil Nadu, India, in which poor agricultural peasants were burned alive by wealthy landlords. The study’s major findings offer a comprehensive look at the physical and psychological causes and consequences of underlying Structural Violence processes worldwide with reference to the select text. According to the text, the study’s findings suggest that structural violence contributing factors are multifaceted and systemic. Besides, it reveals that people’s collective efforts, combined with modified legal interventions, can help combat Structural Violence by creating awareness and providing impoverished communities with adequate services and resources.
