Several aryl oxamate esters have been investigated as reagents for the identification of aliphatic amines. They react From 6 reagents and 20 amines, These reagents have the great advantage over acid chlorides and readily and selectively with primary aliphatic amines to give oxamides, ArNHCOCONHR. 107 derivatives have been prepared and characterized.aryl isocyanates of being indifferent to water and alcohols. They are selective for primary amines.
