Preliminary estimates of national benefits from electric utility applications of battery energy stor-"8 age through the year 2010 are presented along with a discussion of the particular applications studied. The estimates in this report were based on planning information reported to DOE by electric utilities across the United States. Future studies are planned to refine these estimates as more Q application-specific information becomes available.
