The expected formation of large concentrations of carbon dioxide occurred for a while, but there was no loss of catalytic activity.The entire system has been in continuous operation for over two years. Except for routine maintenance and periodic checks of calibration with known mixtures, no attention has been required and there has been no sign of catalyst deactivation. Figure 3 is a typical record of the hydrocarbon content of feed air in terms of parts per million of methane. The rapid response to changes in concentration is clearly evident.
