Ergebnisse der rontgentopographischen Uiitersuchungcn zur Realst,ruktur von Nadelund Pliittchenwhiskern sind wiedergegeben. Die Wachsturnsricht.~uigeii und die Zugfestigkeit der erhaltenen Whisker werclen best immt. The paper deals with the effect of t.he fundamental t,echnological parameters on the mass increment of a-Al,O, sapphire whiskers grown in a high-temperature resistance furnace by hydrogen reduction. Results of X-ray topographical studies of the defect structure of needle-and plate-like whiskers arc presented. The directions of growth and the tensile strength of the grown whiskers are dctcrmined.
