The nasal polyps of patients with AIA have characteristic methylation patterns affecting 337 genes. The genes and pathways identified in this study may be associated with the presence of aspirin hypersensitivity in asthmatics and are therefore attractive targets for future research.
These results suggest that the altered distribution pattern of collagen, proteoglycans, and lymphatic vessels could potentially modulate the remodelling of nasal mucosa in mild and severe persistent allergic nasal mucosa.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
