The physical properties of NaCl and KCI crystals prepared from melts by the Kyropoulos method are described. The material was firstly refined by phosgcn (COCl,) by which the anion impurities were removed from t h e melt. The mcasurements of the absorption inUV and I R region, the microhardness and CRSS, the dislocation densities, the ionic conductivity and tho study of the kinetics of colour centres show that crystals prepared by the described modified Kyropoulos method are not only free from OH-ions but also from all other foreign anions with oxygen.100 "C hoher liegt als der Schmelzpunkt. A method for preparation of aluminiumhydroxid and alfa and gamma modifications of A1,0, of high chemical purity and suitable physical properties is described. The gamma modification of A1,0, was proved as a starting powder for the preparation of crystals of corundum, and the alfa modification of Al,Os was tested as an effective polishing powder on crystals. With regard to the physical properties and the spherical form of the particles i t seems that this aluminiumoxid is useful and porspcctive for other technical applications too.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
