Following fortuitous discoveries and interesting surface prospections, a dig was organized on the site of the necropolis of Touron at Puymirol (Lot-et-Garonne). Forty-four graves were excavated and only a few yielded significant archeological material. The necropolis appears to hâve been used during the 6th and 7th centuries and could correspond to a small habitat dating from before the organization of the village of Puymirol at the height of the Middle Ages.

Les chapiteaux de marbre antérieurs à l'époque romane du département du Gers ont déjà donné lieu à plusieurs travaux publiés il y a quelques années par M. Larrieu-Duler. Outre les dimensions et la description du chapiteau, chaque notice comprend un paragraphe sur le contexte archéologique du lieu de découverte. En l'état actuel de la recherche, il est difficile de dater avec précision ces différents éléments ; ils témoignent néanmoins de l'excellente qualité de la décoration immobilière des établissements ruraux de Novempopulanie durant l'Antiquité tardive.
