Diabetes melitus merupakan sekelompok kelainan heterogen yang ditandai dengan hiperglikemia. Bahkan, diabetes termasuk penyakit yang dapat terjadi karena faktor genetik. Semakin lama menderita diabetes, maka akan memperburuk kualitas hidupnya. Intervensi yang dapat digunakan untuk meningkatkan kualitas hidup penderita dengan melakukan genetic counseling, Hanya saja, intervensi ini masih jarang diimplementasikan. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menilai pengaruh genetic counseling terhadap kualitas hidup pada penderita Diabetes Melitus. Penelitian ini mengguanakan desain Quasi-Experimental Without Control Group dengan desain pretest and posttest. Sampel yang digunakan sejumlah sebanyak 38 orang, pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan pengisian kuesioner kualitas hidup (SF-36). Uji Paired-Sample T Test digunakan untuk uji hipotesis. Genetic counseling memiliki pengaruh terhadap kualitas hidup partisipan (p < 0.05). Treatment ini perlu dilakukan dalam praktek keperawatan sehari-hari karena terdapat benefits ke kualitas hidup pasien diabetes. Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) is a chronic disease that attacks the respiratory system caused by inflammation and pollutants that are sucked in the respiratory tract which will cause bronchial stiffness resulting in dyspnea or gasping breath. West Java itself has a prevalence of 3% including Ciamis. Dyspnea will reduce the ability of lung physiology which is marked by a decrease of peak expiratory flow rate<150 L which will eventually cause the death. The purpose of this study is to reduce dyspnea in COPD patients seen from the increase ofPEFR. The sample of this study was 25 medium classifications of COPD patients who were given the technique of Purse Lips Breathing 2 times a day in 7 days. The method of this research is one group pre-post test design with a sample of 25 COPD patients. The results of the study were tested by paired T-test where the results showed a P value of 0.00 <0.05, which means that there was a clear and significant increase in PEFR after given the Pursed lips breathing technique. Discussion of increasing PEFR requires consistency of COPD patients so that complementary therapy or even collaboration can be used to reduce dyspnea symptoms. As the conclusion, the increase of PEFR as a sign of reducing dyspnea does not stand alone but requiring a comprehensive examination, it can be used as the first measure of emergency breathing.
Introduction: Stroke is a cardiovascular disease which is globally estimated in 2030, 25 million sufferers will end up with death. Problems that usually occur in post-stroke patients are paralysis in part of the body, stiffness or weakness in muscles. One of the actions that can be taken is to increase knowledge in patients by providing education using audio-visual-based media about ROM (Range of Motion) in order to accelerate the healing process. Objective: To provide education and mobilization of ROM for elderly with stroke using audio visuals at the Welas Asih Nursing Home in Tasikmalaya. Method:: The method in this activity is counseling, video delivery and guided practice. Participants were 23 elderly stroke patients. This community dedication implemented on Saturday, April 03, 2021, at the Welas Asih Nursing Home in Tasikmalaya. Result: The success of this service can be seen from the enthusiasm and enthusiasm of the elderly who play an active role in evaluating the material that has been delivered. Conclussion: The implementation of service activities was carried out smoothly, all participants were committed to carrying out all the recommendations to help accelerate stroke recovery
Scabies is a skin disease that is global in nature. It is estimated that the prevalence of scabies worldwide reaches more than 300 million cases per year. Personal hygiene and poor environmental management can increase the risk of scabies. The provision of health education on personal hygiene and environmental management is one of the efforts to reduce the incidence of scabies. The aim of this research was to determine the effect of environmental management and personal hygiene education on the incidence of scabies at Islamic Boarding School Pangandaran. This study was a quasi-experimental study with a one group pretest-posttest design. The population was all students who suffer from scabies at the school, and a sample of 42 students was used. Data were analyzed using paired sample t test with a confidence level of 95% (α= 0.05). Based on the bivariate analysis, it was shown that before the environmental management intervention was given, almost all of the respondents (38 people – 90.5%) had a low level of habitual behavior. After the environmental management intervention was given, most of the respondents (28 people – 66.7%) had a higher level of habitual behavior than before environmental management. After education on personal hygiene, 22 respondents (52.4%) had a good level of knowledge and 20 (47.6%) had sufficient knowledge (p-value < 0.05). Therefore, environmental management and health education on personal hygiene can lead to a decrease in the incidence of scabies in Pondok Pesantren Riyadlussharf Walmantiq Pangandaran. Breast self-examination is an activity carried out by a woman to detect abnormalities in the breast. Breast self-examination activities should be done once every month, for women who still experience regular menstruation, it is advisable to do breast self-examination on the 7th day to the 10th day of menstruation is calculated from the first day of menstruation. Health education using audiovisuals or lectures has often been done, whereas individual counseling in the form of leaflets is rarely done so this research needs to be done. The purpose of this study was to determine the Effectiveness of Health Education with Media Leaflets on Knowledge and Attitudes of Breast Self-Examination (BSE) in young women. The method used was pre-experimental with one group pretest-posttest design. The sampling technique used incidental sampling of 76 respondents. Bivariate analysis techniques using Wilcoxon. Wilcoxon's statistical test results produce a significance value of p-value between the effectiveness of health education with media leaflets on BSE knowledge of 0,000 with p-value 0,000 <0.05 and BSE attitude of 0,000 with a p-value of 0,000 <0.05. The conclusion is that there are statistically and clinically significant differences between BSE knowledge and attitudes before and after health education with media leaflets.
