We present a series of new intermetalloid clusters (R 3 P)CuGe 9( (Hyp) 3 , (R = Me, Et, iPr, nBu, tBu) (Hyp = Si(SiMe 3 ) 3 ) (R 3 P)AuGe 9 (Hyp) 3 MGe 9 (Hyp) 3 (R = Ph, Me; M = Au, Cu). In conjunction with already known clusters, these give new insights into the bonding situation of metal bridged Ge 9 clusters as well as a better understanding of the formation of these clusters. Additionally, the intermetalloid clusters with the smallest phosphine PMe 3 show new bonding motives.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
