Scaffolding is important equipment in either conventional or IBS construction. Both are needed for the renovation and supporting scaffolding of workers and materials during building operations, structural repairs, or cleaning. Work-related musculoskeletal disorders (WMSDs) are a common health concern among construction workers. Workers are also affected by pain in their shoulders, lower back pain, knee pain, leg tiredness and feet due to their occupation. WMSDs are the main issue faced by the scaffolders or workers at the construction site due to lifting and carrying the scaffolding component from transport to the workplace. By identifying the main issue, it provides the opportunity and platform to propose an innovation idea for solving such an issue. Due to that issue, an innovation has been proposed known as scaffolding transportation in a horizontal way. The objectives of the innovation project are to identify the problems associated with the scaffolding transportation method in construction sites and to propose an innovative product to improve the scaffolding transportation method in construction sites. In order to achieve the following objective, the method used for the development of the proposed innovation idea included desk studies on the previous article on the relevant topic and questionnaire surveys to strengthen the innovation idea. This innovative idea has a good impact on the construction industry and it is in line with IR4.0 as well.
Solar energy is the most common supply of energy for all kinds of life on Earth. It is also the fundamental source of all energy sources except nuclear energy. However, solar technology has not progressed to the same level as traditional energy sources. It has several obstacles, including high costs, irregular and unexpected weather, the necessity for storage, and low efficiency. Thus, this paper explores and discusses the components and materials of solar panels, the assembling and assembling, and the market potential for solar panel mechanical cleaning systems in commercial buildings. A simulation method through the application of Google SketchUp Pro 2021, Keyframe Animation, and Windows Movie Maker for the demonstration enhanced the visual of the potential innovation product of solar panel mechanical cleaning system. It offers to create a Solar Panel Mechanical Cleaning System that regularly clears the collected dust on its surface while maintaining the performance of the solar power plant. The structure is a mechanical system that can move autonomously on the surface of solar panels using dry cleaning techniques such as a rotating cylindrical cloth and a squeegee while keeping in mind the limited availability of water in areas where such plants are mostly found. This initiative also intends to eliminate human interference in the solar panel cleaning operation, as it is a dangerous environment for workers under the blazing heat.
The most preferred waste management practices are to prevent or minimize waste. Public participation in domestic waste separation for reuse and recycling is the key to reduce waste disposal or increase the amount of waste diverted from landfill. These practices are influenced by knowledge of the public on the concept of source separation, reuse, and recycle, varieties of recyclable goods and methods of disposal for domestic waste. This paper proposes an assessment to explore the reuse and recycling of domestic solid waste by local residents in Malaysia. The propose assessment will include field experiment at selected housing schemes in Malaysia. The experiment will become a platform to guide and educate the public to manage domestic waste. These hands-on practices will be closely monitored. Three interventions will be conducted to identify their current practices of domestic waste management. The interventions will be "information only", "information and norms" and "information and monetary incentives". The record of domestic waste collected by the local authorities, before and after these interventions will be checked and analysed. The findings of the experiment shall indicate the influencing factors for separation at source for domestic waste.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
