This paper presents an analysis of the results of daily observations from the execution of transport orders by three types of vehicles over a period of 2 years. The purpose of the research was to evaluate the operation process and determine the influence of important technical and operational variables on the economic efficiency of the operation process. A set of 7 quantitative variables, previously not considered in the evaluation of the commercial vehicle operation process, was subjected to statistical data analysis. An indicator analysis and evaluation of the intensity of use of the following types of vehicles was conducted: Renault Master, Fiat Ducato and Citroen Jumper. Based on the results of the research, the vehicle with the highest efficiency was determined and possible assumptions of the strategy applied in the company were indicated. The analysis and evaluation of vehicle efficiency gave rise to the identification of independent variables determining the company's income. Using the indicator method and the multivariate regression model, transport companies can evaluate the efficiency of transport tasks undertaken.
In the paper authors presented concept of evaluation of complex systems such as logistic companies which operate in competitive environment. Authors also highlighted the importance of the evaluation problem in operational activity, particularly in the properly prepared procedures to be followed, consisted of several stages adapted to currently conducted research. Properly executed evaluation of companies enables customers to take right decisions on contracting services and stimulate the development of those companies. It should be noted that the proposed algorithmic model of assessment may be particularly useful for assessment of complex logistics systems. Characteristics of the respective phases developed procedure allowed to indicate that it is important to select of appropriate criteria and evaluation methods. It was pointed out that particularly useful for assessing of logistics companies are multi-criteria analysis methods, because they allow to examine objects in a holistic manner, taking into consideration various aspects of activities such organizations. For the practical realization of assessment of logistics companies there was proposed Bellinger method, which contains quite transparent procedures. The results obtained from that method are consistent with those carried out by means of other, more complex multi-criteria methods. Also there was presented the problem of selection of weighted factors for the criteria in the context of their impact on the end result of evaluation. It was pointed out that the choice of an appropriate procedure for determining weights depends on the nature of the evaluated problem and form of criteria.
Effective exploitation of means of transport in transport companies is one of the most important ways of achieving competitive advantage. Mentioned problem is particularly important in the market of passenger transport services in large agglomerations, because it has a social aspect in addition to the economic dimension. In addition, most often the studies concern single objects of exploitation, while the subject of research are groups of objects of passenger transport means. The main objective of the study is to analyze and evaluate the system of exploitation of passenger transport means and to propose solutions for its improvement. On the basis of the theory of exploitation systems, quantitative utilitarian models have been built, which have been verified by applications using data obtained from Municipal Communication Company (MPK) in Wroclaw. Originality and innovation in the recognition of the research problem consist in applying to the analysis and evaluation of the Ishikawa diagram exploitation system, Pareto-Lorenzo analysis, and FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) methods. On the other hand, a QFD (Quality Function Deployment) diagram was used to build a model of improvement of the exploitation system, with the use of which the target values of parameters for the operation of MPK passenger transport in Wroclaw were determined. The applied methods, techniques, and research tools are rarely used in the field of testing of vehicle operation systems. The work has a very practical character and built models can be used in other urban agglomerations in order to improve the operation of passenger transport means.
Abstract-The Army use bridges to cross narrow water and terrain obstacles. The bridges are carried on wheel or caterpillar vehicles then they are laid on obstacle. Generally the bridges are not put by crane, but by special manipulator -called manipulator of mechanized bridge. This manipulator structure depends on kind of bridge and way of its laying.Independently from constructional solutions, manipulator has large angles of turn of elements (over 180º) and transfer considerable burdens in initial and final stage of laying process. Moreover dimension and mass restrictions for whole mechanized bridge cause that manipulator ought to be compact and light construction. In paper authors propose methodology of selection of geometrical structure for this type of devices. To accelerate process of searching right structures and geometrical parameters then to enlarge credibility of getting positive results, methods of structural synthesis were chosen. Authors emphasize importance of contemporary solutions in this area which enable preparing of preliminary foundations and requirements.Authors introduce practical implementation of results on example of Polish new military bridge. Proposed methodology of creation of kinematic structure of mechanized bridges manipulator can be applied to other similar technical devices.
Purpose: The purpose of the study is to determine the impact of the pandemic on the current implementation of the New Silk Road project and its future in light of changes worldwide. Design/Methodology/Approach: The study used empirical methods (source material review, expert opinion surveys, diagnostic survey) and theoretical methods (analysis, synthesis, comparison, modeling, and inference). Findings: The COVID-19 pandemic is associated with societies worldwide with China and, in extreme cases, entire East Asia. This belief has affected mass attitudes and social phenomena concerning the People's Republic of China's foreign policy in different parts of the world. Therefore, a correlation between changes in worldwide societal attitudes towards the People's Republic of China and the perspective for developing the Chinese New Silk Road (Belt and Road Initiative) project has emerged. However, another implication concerns the deteriorated structure of the global economy due to COVID-19, which had a significant impact on the change in many states' strategic position. Practical Implications: The conclusions will compare the knowledge resulting from the literature review with the outcomes of this article's own research. Originality: Because of it, it will be possible to identify not only the main assumptions of the New Silk Road but, above all, to present a foresight for the development of this flagship project of the PRC in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic.
