Introdaction: Patients with mechanic neck pain a population that often found overstretches it is caused by occurred between the two bones in the neck on the ligaments and soft tissues located around, static resulting in hipomibilitas the joint space and joint play movement, resulting in the emergence of provocation on the part of the occipital region on Cervical stressor resulting in excess tissue around the contractile and non-contractile. Purpose: This study the application of ultrasound and McKenzie exercise and myofacial release ultrasound in reducing disability in mechanical neck pain, Methods: This research method is a quasi experimental research with Pre and Post Test Two Group Design. The samples were divided into two treatment groups consisting of McKenzie exercice and ultrasounds were 20 participants with myofascial release and ultrasound with 19 participants, a total of 39 participants. Result: Differences between the mean decrease in neck with NDI disability before and after the application of each group were tested by t-test related, the results obtained mean between the groups before treatment 17,10±1,889% and after treatment 12,90±2,490% by value (p = 0.001) with a mean difference of 42% and showed the average group between before treatment 17,42±2,388% and after treatment 15,63±2,362% (p = 0.001) with a mean difference of 17,9%. The statistical test of using independent t-test showed is a significant difference between group I and group II and the result is p = 0.001 (p< 0.05). Conclusion: application of combined Mc Kenzie exercise and ultrasound better than the application of a combination of myofacial release and ultrasound in reducing disabilities in case of mechanical neck pain.
Background: To increase of life expectancy have an affect for elderly population, is all about aging process, there will experience a setback their muscles it can be cause changes of the functional of the muscle. For example That is decrease in strength and muscle contraction, muscle elasticity and flesibility as well as speed and reaction time, as a result, the elderly will be vulnerable to falling. Objects: woman dan man elderly who have age ranges 60-74, which are included to the category of inclusion and the category of exclusion. total patients are 44 persons, they are divided into two groups. Group I are 21 subjects and Group II are 23 Subjects, the group-one subject were given single task , while the group-two subject were given dual task. Methods: this research employs two groups pre and post test design. Data analysis to find out the difference of pre and post this research employs wilcoxon test. Results: There is increase walking speed to elderly effect between pre and post in group one after 2 weeks (12 times of therapy) is p = 0.000. The result of increase walking speed to elderly effect between pre and post in group two is p = 0.000 and the test increase speed to elderly with ten meters walking test between group one and group two in measn group I is 3,28 and group II is 8,13. There is an difference effect of giving single task and dual task to increase walking speed to elderly. Conclusion: there is have difference in effect between the group one and group increase walking speed to elderly so that the results can be seen which is more effective is the group II with dual task.
: Cognitive Domain, Health Journal, Group Discussion. It is very important for physiotherapist to understand Journal and to know the development of theory and practice. Physiotherapist Learning process is based on evidence based so that they must understand the content of journal. Most students don’t understand the content of journal. One of learning method that can used for understanding of journal is group discussion. This study is interested in the class research action which the title is Using Group Discussion Method for understanding Health Journal from cognitive domain to Physiotherapy student of Health Polytechnic of Surakarta. Research Objective is to recognize the achievement of ability to understand the content of journal in cognitive domain of English Lesson in group discussion of Physiotherapy student of Health Polytechnic of Surakarta. The construction of research that be used by the class research action (PTK), Subject are 65 student in eight groups. The research is hoped to be benefit for researcher and can be used as basic reference of research deeply.
Background: Shortening of the hamstring muscles results in pain, limited range of motion, postural instability, and abnormal gait, which effect on daily activities. Muscle energy technique provides a solution to shortening the hamstring muscles by improving muscle flexibility. This study aimed to examine the effectiveness of muscle energy technique in increasing hamstring muscle flexibility in adolescents. Subjects and Method: This was a quasi-experiment pretest-posttest without a control group conducted at No. 1 High School Jogonalan, Klaten, Central Java in April 2018. A total of 30 students was selected with purposive sampling method in which one student dropped out. The dependent variable was flexibility of hamstring muscle. The independent variable was muscle energy technique training. The flexibility of hamstring muscle was measured by back saver sit and reach test. Data were analyzed by Wilcoxon test. Results: Flexibility of hamstring muscle was higher after muscle energy technique (Mean= 39.92; SD= 4.24) than before (Mean= 30.14; SD= 3.59), and it was statistically significant (p <0.001). Conclusion: Muscle energy technique increases flexibility of hamstring muscle. Muscle exercise technique can be used to improve hamstring muscle flexibility.
