Análise documentária USE OF REMOTE SENSING IN PRECISION AGRICULTURE:A BIBLIOMETRIC ANALYSIS SUMMARY: This study aimed to examine the scientific literature on the use of remote sensing in precision agriculture that was developed by authors from institutions in Brazil, based on an extensive compilation of published scientific articles on the topic. It was adopted as a research methodology the bibliometric analysis, and from it, the results were related to the spatial, temporal, institutional and thematic dimensions of Brazilian research in this area. The survey results show that, although recent, remote sensing has been contributing to the management of the sitespecific farming, with the scientific production concentrated mainly in the institutions of the Southeast and South regions of Brazil. The highest frequency of geotechnology use occurs at the ground level of remote sensing, allowing the improvement and introduction of new sensor systems business. Moreover, it was found that the differences in approaches or research questions vary depending on the techniques used. While in the terrestrial remote sensing the approach is to characterize the spectral behavior of soils and plants, in orbital remote sensing, the contribution is focused on the estimation of cultivated areas and productivity, important conditions for the crops yields predicting.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
