The practice of prescribing multiple antipsychotics to patients with schizophrenia is increasing, and high-dose antipsychotic drugs are more likely to be prescribed in combination than in isolation. The reasons for this pattern of prescription and its impact warrants further study.
Flexible, controllable, and stable electrochemical supercapacitors serving as actuators at low operating voltage combining the advantages of the high power of the dielectric capacitors and the high specific energy of rechargeable batteries are important in artificial muscle technology, hybrid electric vehicles, and in short-term power sources for mobile electronic devices [ Baughman , Science , 300 , 268 (2003) ; Winter and Brodd , Chem. Rev. (Washington, D.C.) , 104 , 4245 (2004) ; Ebron , et al. , Science , 311 , 1580 (2006) ]. High capacitance, a surprising 99% inner charge contribution and actuation in the hydrogel-assisted actuatable electrochemical supercapacitor (HAES) microfiber fabricated through wet spinning of a chitosan solution, followed by the in situ chemical polymerization of aniline was made possible through the perfect utilization of the large surface area provided by the nanostructured polyaniline grown inside as well as on the surface of the fiber. The HAES electrodes with an actuation strain of 0.33% showed

durability. The change in impedance as well as capacitance was achieved by the controlled strain as a function of applied stress, which can establish a direct relationship between the actuation strain and specific capacitance of electrochemical supercapacitors.
The objective of this study was to examine the feasibility and sustained effect of a group aerobic exercise program in patients with schizophrenia. Twenty-four schizophrenic patients participated in a group-based individually tailored 90-minute outdoor cycling session per week for 3 months with intervention to enhance motivation. Physical health was evaluated by anthropometric measures, cardiorespiratory (CR) fitness, and blood tests. Mental health was assessed on self-esteem, interpersonal relationship, quality of life, and global function. Attrition rate for the exercise program was 8.3%. Exercise program significantly increased participant's self-esteem, positive relationship, global function, and quality of life. CR fitness significantly improved after 3 months. At the 9-month follow-up, 6 months after program completion, only in interpersonal relationship change the improved effects were maintained. These findings support the feasibility of group aerobic exercise program with high level of adherence and its long-term benefits in positive relationship change.
Our results strengthen earlier findings of hyperactive error monitoring in OCD, as indexed by higher ERN amplitudes in patients with OCD than in controls. Importantly, we showed that the patients' overactive error-signals were experimentally enhanced by individually tailored OCD-symptom triggers, thus suggesting convincing evidence between OCD-symptoms and ERN. Such findings imply that therapeutic interventions should target affective regulation in order to alleviate the perceived threatening value of OCD triggers.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
