In this paper, we used maximum likelihood method and the Bayesian method to estimate the shape parameter (θ), and reliability function (R(t)) of the Kumaraswamy distribution with two parameters l , θ (under assuming the exponential distribution, Chi-squared distribution and Erlang-2 type distribution as prior distributions), in addition to that we used method of moments for estimating the parameters of the prior distributions. Bayes estimators derived under the squared error loss function. We conduct simulation study, to compare the performance for each estimator, several values of the shape parameter (θ) from Kumaraswamy distribution for data-generating, for different samples sizes (small, medium, and large). Simulation results have shown that the Best method is the Bayes estimation according to the smallest values of mean square errors(MSE) for all samples sizes (n).
The objective of this study is to examine the properties of Bayes estimators of the shape parameter of the Power Function Distribution (PFD-I), by using two different prior distributions for the parameter θ and different loss functions that were compared with the maximum likelihood estimators. In many practical applications, we may have two different prior information about the prior distribution for the shape parameter of the Power Function Distribution, which influences the parameter estimation. So, we used two different kinds of conjugate priors of shape parameter θ of the Power Function Distribution (PFD-I) to estimate it. The conjugate prior function of the shape parameter θ was considered as a combination of two different prior distributions such as gamma distribution with Erlang distribution and Erlang distribution with exponential distribution and Erlang distribution with non-informative distribution and exponential distribution with the non-informative distribution. We derived Bayes estimators for shape parameter θ of the Power Function Distribution (PFD-I) according to different loss functions such as the squared error loss function (SELF), the weighted error loss function (WSELF) and modified linear exponential (MLINEX) loss function (MLF), with two different double priors. In addition to the classical estimation (maximum likelihood estimation). We used simulation to get the results of this study, for different cases of the shape parameter of the Power Function Distribution used to generate data for different samples sizes.
In this study, we derived the estimation for Reliability of the Exponential distribution based on the Bayesian approach. In the Bayesian approach, the parameter of the Exponential distribution is assumed to be random variable .We derived posterior distribution the parameter of the Exponential distribution under four types priors distributions for the scale parameter of the Exponential distribution is: Inverse Chi-square distribution, Inverted Gamma distribution, improper distribution, Non-informative distribution. And the estimators for Reliability is obtained using the two proposed loss function in this study which is based on the natural logarithm for Reliability function .We used simulation technique, to compare the resultant estimators in terms of their mean squared errors (MSE).Several cases assumed for the parameter of the exponential distribution for data generating of different samples sizes (small, medium, and large). The results were obtained by using simulation technique, Programs written using MATLAB-R2008a program were used. In general, we obtained a good estimations of reliability of the Exponential distribution under the second proposed loss function according to the smallest values of mean squared errors (MSE) for all samples sizes (n) comparative to the estimated values for MSE under the first proposed loss function.
We are used Bayes estimators for unknown scale parameter when shape Parameter is known of Erlang distribution. Assuming different informative priors for unknown scale parameter. We derived The posterior density with posterior mean and posterior variance using different informative priors for unknown scale parameter which are the inverse exponential distribution, the inverse chi-square distribution, the inverse Gamma distribution, and the standard Levy distribution as prior. And we derived Bayes estimators based on the general entropy loss function (GELF) is used the Simulation method to obtain the results. we generated different cases for the parameters of the Erlang model, for different sample sizes. The estimates have been compared in terms of their mean-squared error (MSE). We concluded that the best estimators of the scale parameterof the Erlang distribution, based on GELF for the shape parameter (c=1,2,3) under inverse gamma prior with for all samples sizes(n) where the true cases of the Erlang model are and according to the smallest values of MSE
In this paper, Bayes estimators of Poisson distribution have been derived by using two loss functions: the squared error loss function and the proposed exponential loss function in this study, based on different priors classified as the two different informative prior distributions represented by erlang and inverse levy prior distributions and non-informative prior for the shape parameter of Poisson distribution. The maximum likelihood estimator (MLE) of the Poisson distribution has also been derived. A simulation study has been fulfilled to compare the accuracy of the Bayes estimates with the corresponding maximum likelihood estimate (MLE) of the Poisson distribution based on the root mean squared error (RMSE) for different cases of the parameter of the Poisson distribution and different sample sizes.
