High stability and transparent superhydrophobic coating on a glass substrate that can effectively repel the wetting dust as a self-cleaning property are beneficial traits for solving the decrease in optical lens clarity in an unmanned underground mining environment. However, the transparent superhydrophobic coating has still not been applied due to the contradiction between visibility, hydrophobicity and durability. Herein, a sandwich-like superhydrophobic coating was designed and prepared on borosilicate glass, which consisted of a micro/nanostructure body of neutral silicone sealant (primer) and hydrophobic silica nanoparticles (interlayer), as well as a protective layer of ultraviolet (UV) gel. The coated glass exhibited excellent superhydrophobicity towards many aqueous solutions, and had highly visible light transparency of 80% at 4 wt.% primer mass content. Furthermore, significant tests including the droplet impact, hot water boiling, stirring in acetic acid aqueous solution and sandpaper abrasion were performed on our superhydrophobic coating, which indicated that the obtained transparent coating had good stability and excellent mechanical durability. The coated glass also showed a more wonderful self-cleaning property compared with that of the original glass. This superhydrophobic coating on glass substrate, fabricated by a facile and cost-effective layer-by-layer construction approach, has great potential for general and practical application in the unmanned mining environment under multiple dust and atomized water conditions.
To reveal the dynamic mechanical response and energy dissipation behavior of rockburst-prone coal samples under impact loading, the compressive experiments on Xinzhouyao coals (prone) and Machang coals (nonprone) under different impact loadings were carried out using the Split Hopkinson Pressure Bar (SHPB). The dynamic mechanical properties were studied, including dynamic elastic modulus, strain rate, peak stress, peak strain, dynamic increment factor, and energy dissipation. The results show that the dynamic elastic modulus, peak stress, and peak strain of both prone and nonprone coals perform an obvious correlation with the increase of strain rate. The strain rate strengthening effect on the dynamic elastic modulus and compressive strength of rockburst-prone coal samples are more significant, reflected by the greater increment with the increase of strain rate, while the dynamic increment factors of both prone and nonprone coals show apparent strain rate strengthening. The incident, reflected, and transmitted energy of both two coals linearly increases with the impact velocity, although the increased rate may be different. The dissipated energy of rockburst-prone coal samples increases faster, while the rate of the increase of the dissipated energy is more stable with strain rate. The results may provide an important reference for revealing the failure law of engineering-scaled coal mass suffered by rockburst.
Mechanical characteristics of roadway surrounding rock under different stress wave disturbances are the key to design roadway supporting scheme. In this study, the 2802 transportation roadway in Zhangcun Coal Mine is selected as the engineering background. The distribution of stress, displacement, and plastic zone in surrounding rock under the impact of different stress waves is studied. Results show that the stress and displacement of the roof, floor, and coal walls present fluctuating change with time during the stress wave loading process. With the increase of disturbing intensity of stress wave, the resistance ability for stress wave disturbance of the roof is lower than that of the floor, while the resistance ability of two sides is the same. The volume of plastic zone in roadway surrounding rock was calculated by the self-compiled FISH code. The relationship between the plastic zone volume and the stress wave disturbing intensity in different states is explored. The cubic polynomial relationship between the volume and the disturbing intensity in the state of shear_past and tension_past is obtained. Under the simulated condition, the disturbing intensity of stress wave has the greatest influence on the increase of shear_past volume when it equals 11 MPa. While the disturbing intensity of stress wave has the greatest influence on the increase of tension_past volume, it equals 7 MPa. Meanwhile, the relation between stress wave disturbing intensity and surrounding rock stress and displacement is obtained respectively. The achievements provide a theoretical base for roadway surrounding rock support under dynamic and static loading.
