An important way for optimizing the architecture of multi-standard and multi-function communication systems is to employ reconfigurable resources instead of dedicated ones. One challenge in doing so is the automatic identification of resources within subsystems, which can be merged together to form reconfigurable components, at a very early design stage. In this paper, a formal model based identification technique is developed, which targets exactly this design challenge. A practical use of the proposed identification technique is illustrated by means of a multi-standard Zigbee transmitter system in the last part of the paper.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
