The purpose of this study is to examine the mediating effect of self-esteem on the association between social support and parenting efficacy as perceived by disabled children’s mothers. For this study, 400 mothers currently using special-education classes, special-education schools, special daycare centers, and community rehabilitation centers were selected. They were requested to take a questionnaire, and after excluding insincere responses, the data of 238 mothers were analyzed for levels of self-esteem, social support, and parenting efficacy. All data were analyzed using the SPSS 20.0 to estimate the correlation among the main variables, while a hierarchical multiple regression analysis was used to verify the mediating effect of self-esteem. The result of the analysis showed that, first, a significant correlation existed among self-esteem, social support, and parenting efficacy perceived by disabled children’s mothers; and second, self-esteem exhibited complete mediating effects on the association between social support and parenting efficacy perceived by disabled children’s mothers. Based on the findings, the present study suggests that further studies should address the need for improving self-esteem so as to enhance the parenting efficacy in disabled children’s mothers.
The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of V. Frankl’s Logotherapy in personal counseling for a senile dementia caregiver through client’s changes. It was also to examine the factors which influenced the outcome based on the Logotherapy-centered technique. 10 sessions of Logotherapy personal counseling and one further session were conducted to the senile dementia caregiver. The data were collected from recording of interviews, transcripts, therapist’s case notes and reflection papers, and were analyzed using a single case study method. The study revealed that the Logotherapy personal counseling has brought positive changes in mental security and problem solving to the client. It also suggested the 5 factors of the outcome which are the client’s guilt, experiential values, creative values, attitudinal values, and self-transcendence, and analyzed the therapy process of discovering meaning of life by presenting specific cases. In the end, the significance of the study and the suggestion for further research were presented.
The purpose of this study is to confirm the effect of the child abuse prevention education program on the promotion of the intention to report child abuse. Subjects of experimental group watched VOD with child abuse prevention instruction developed by this researcher in 2019, and those in contrast group watched VOD with child abuse prevention instruction spread by Central- Child Protection Agency in 2016. All advance tests of both groups were taken from the 17th to 30th of August in 2019 and participants joining in each others' program were asked to participate in this program education and take the post-test after watching VODs for 10 whole days (from September 27th to October 6th in 2019). I used SPSS 18.0 for analyzing data, and three-way mixed ANOVA. According to this study, the experimental group offered child-abuse prevention instruction developed by this researcher showed that all the scores of intention to report child abuse rose meaningfully higher toward both the cases that can be recognized strongly and weakly to be child-abuse than the contrast group trained with existing child-abuse prevention instruction. and I confirmed that this program has an effect on child abuse prevention instruction through on-line.
