Sandwith and Jacaranda cuspidifolia Mart. ABSTRACT: The objective of this study was to perform phytochemical screening and evaluate the antifungal action on the floral extracts of Tabebuia roseoalba and Jacaranda cuspidifolia. Flowers of T. roseoalba and J. cuspidifolia were collected and the hydroethanolic extracts were produced by maceration. Phytochemical screening was performed qualitatively using different colorimetric and precipitation reagents. The antifungal activity was performed at different concentrations of the floral extracts by the agar diffusion method on Sclerotinia sclerotiorum, Colletotrichum acutatum, Colletotrichum gloeosporioides and Rhizopus stolonifer. Phytochemical screening demonstrated the presence of several phytochemical classes. Antifungal activity was reported for the four phytopathogenic strains, especially for C. acutatum and C. gloeosporioides for the floral extract of T. roseoalba and high antifungal potential for S. sclerotiorum, C. acutatum and C. gloeosporioides. The floral hydroethanolic extracts of T. roseoalba and J. cuspidifolia showed potential fungicidal action on phytopathogens of agricultural interest. Keywords: Sclerotinia; Colletotrichum; flavonoids; alkaloids; tannins; fungistatic.
