Flux switching machines (FSPM) with hybrid excitation (HE) offer some attractive properties, as robust and simple rotor structure, flux control capability, brushless topology, since the excitation winding is mounted on the stator and simple cooling possibilities. This paper compares the properties of a 12/10-pole FSPM with HE and an E-core-FSPM with HE with regard to their flux adjusting capability and torque capability. 2D-finite element (FEM) calculations are performed to underline the presented ideas.
In this paper a Flux Switching Permanent Magnet Machine (FSPM) and a Flux Switching Machine (FSM) with hybrid excitation (HE) are compared regarding their torque-speed characteristic. Different flux control strategies are implemented and the resulting torque-speed characteristic is discussed. Index Terms -flux switching machines, hybrid excitation, flux control.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
