This present report deals with an 81-year-old man who developed a parotid tumor that had extensive local invasion and metastasized to an inguinal lymph node. The initial biopsy consisted of a loose network of polygonal cells with abundant alcian blue positive, hyaluronidase digestible stroma. The anatomical location of the neoplasm, the peculiar histology, and the presence of mucin,'suggested that the neoplasm was of salivary gland origin. Subsequent electron microscopy revealed that the neoplasm consisted of a homogeneous population of cells with prominent myoepithelial features.
