A Synthesis of Vinylcyclopropane 3595 bers indicate some molecular freedom below the freezing point, but no Maxwell-Wagner polarization due to conductivity was encountered in the cases of the three longer molecules. The dielectric properties of the alcohols and amines have been compared, and tentative reasons advanced for the absence of the rotator state in the amines.
The /3-bromoether synthesis of olefins, as developed by Boord and his coworkers, (2, 6-8) gives many types of olefins almost entirely free of isomers, except the geometric forms; however, the synthesis is lengthy and hence the over-all yields are not very high. By the original procedure, a,ß-dibromoethers were obtained by brominating -chloroethers which were prepared by treating aldehydealcohol mixtures with hydrogen chloride; reaction of the dibromides with Grignard reagents then gave the desired /3-bromoethers. In the past few years simple
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
